After initial considerations about the implementation of a general renovation of the existing Hanappi stadium, the responsible persons decided after the comparison of the cost-benefit situation for the new construction of the stadium. The orientation of the new stadium was rotated by 90° in relation to the old building and offers space for more than 24,000 visitors. It will be handed over on time before the start of the 2016/2017 season. As with the famous Allianz ARENA in Munich, Vienna fortunately opted for WOLF ventilation and air conditioning systems.
6 weatherproof roof-mounted central units of the KG TOP-W series with a total air volume of 112,300 m³/h supply the areas to be air-conditioned and humidified. In addition, there are 3 weatherproof exhaust air units of the same design. All central roof units are equipped with a heat recovery system and are operated with state-of-the-art EC fan technology. 2-stage filter units F7 and F9 ensure the purest hygienic fresh air supply. The planning came from the engineering office RHM GmbH A-2870 Aspang and was exemplarily implemented by the company Hopferwieser + Steinmayr Installationstechnik GmbH A-3300 Amstetten. Despite the time pressure, a smooth and very well coordinated cooperation between the WOLF assembly team and the plant constructor could be carried out. WOLF was once again able to prove its experience in large stadium projects and brought this project to a successful conclusion together with its partners. Nothing stands in the way of RAPID's many future football successes.
