Arena Nationala

Bucharest, Romania

The Arena Nationala in Bucharest was created between 2008 and 2011 on the site of the demolished national stadium Lia-Manoliu. It is a UEFA stadium category 4 – the highest classification of the European Football Association. The technical features include a folding tent roof that takes its cues from the Commerzbank Arena in Frankfurt. It is made from a translucent membrane covering some 9000 m² and can be opened and closed within 15 minutes.

Nine air handling units from model sizes 43 to 450 are deployed. These move up to 155,000 m³ air volume per hour. Technical features particular to these WOLF air handling units include integral refrigeration technology (200 kW) in four units and energy-saving crossflow heat exchangers for heat recovery in almost every appliance.
