Privacy policy

We take data protection seriously

We believe that protecting your privacy when processing personal data is important. When you visit our website, our web servers store the following as standard: the IP of your internet service provider, the website you were visiting prior to ours, the pages of our website that you visit and the date and duration of your visit. This information is vital for the technical transmission of the website and secure server operation. We do not analyse this data in relation to you as an individual.

If you send us your data via a contact form, this data is stored and backed up securely on our servers. We only use your data to process your request. We treat your data as strictly confidential. We do not pass it on to third parties.

Personal Data

Personal data is information about you as an individual. This includes your name, address and email address. You do not actually have to disclose any personal data to be able to visit our website. In some cases, we need your name and address and more information about you so that we can provide you with the service you want.

The same applies if you ask us to supply you with information material and/or if we are responding to your enquiries. We will always make you aware of this in such cases. Moreover, we only store the data that you have passed on to us automatically or voluntarily.

When you use one of our services, as a general rule we only collect the data that we need to be able to provide you with our service. We may ask you for further information, but this is on a voluntary basis. Whenever we process personal data, we do so in order to be able to provide you with our service or to pursue our commercial objectives.

Automatically stored, non-personal data

When you visit our website, we store certain information for administrative and technical reasons. This is: the type and version of browser used, the date and time of access and the IP address.

This data is anonymised and only used for statistical purposes and/or to improve our internet and online services.
This anonymised data is stored in secure systems, separately from personal data, and cannot be traced to any individual person. This means that your personal data remains protected at all times.

When you visit our website, we may store information on your computer in the form of cookies. Cookies are small files which are transmitted from an internet server to your browser and stored on your hard drive. They only store your internet protocol address, not personal data. This information enables you to be recognised automatically on your next visit to our website, which makes it easier for you to use.

Of course, you can also visit our website without accepting cookies. If you do not wish your computer to be recognised on your next visit, you can of course decline the use of cookies by changing the settings in your browser to block cookies. You can find out how to do this using the help function of your browser. However, if you decline to use cookies, you may not be able to use the full function of some areas of our website.

Use of Google Analytics with anonymisation function

On our website we use Google Analytics, a web analytics service from Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA, hereinafter referred to as "Google". Google Analytics uses what are known as "cookies" – text files which are stored on your computer and enable us to analyse your use of the website. The information generated by these cookies, for example the time, place and frequency of your visits to our website, including your IP address, is transmitted to Google in the USA and stored there.

On our website we use Google Analytics with “_gat._anonymizeIp” added to it. In this case Google shortens your IP address, thereby anonymising it within member states of the European Union or in other states in the European Economic Area which are party to the agreement. Google uses this information to analyse your use of our website, to compile reports on website activities for us and to render further services relating to website use and internet use. Google may also transmit this information to third parties if this is required by law or such third parties process this data on behalf of Google. Google has stated that under no circumstances will it connect your IP address with any other data it holds. You can prevent the installation of cookies by setting your browser software accordingly; however, please be aware that in this case you may not be able to make full use of all the functionalities of our website as a result.

In addition, Google provides an opt-out add-on for the most common browsers, which gives you more control over which data it records on the websites you have accessed. The add-on informs the Google Analytics JavaScript (ga.js) that no information about visits to the website should be passed on to Google Analytics. However, the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on does not prevent information being passed to us or to other web analytics services that we may use. For further information on installing the browser add-on, click the following link: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout

If you are visiting our website via a mobile terminal device (smartphone or tablet), you need to click this link instead, to stop tracking by Google Analytics within this website in future. This is an alternative in addition to the above browser add-on. Clicking this link installs an opt-out cookie in your browser, which only applies to this browser and this domain. If you delete the cookies in this browser, the opt-out cookie is also deleted and you will have to click the link again

Use of Opetag

Qubit Opentag processes data in accordance with the UK Data Protection Act 1998. Opentag itself does not collect any data apart from statistics and the frequency with which tags and container tags have been accessed. However, the tags implemented via Opentag do collect this type of data. At present, only the Google Analytics tag is operated via Opentag and therefore only non-personal data is supplied to Google Analytics. You can find Qubit’s privacy policy here: www.qubit.com/legal/privacy-and-cookie-policy

Doubleclick by Google

DoubleClick is a service from Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA ("Google"). DoubleClick by Google uses cookies in order to show adverts which are relevant to you. In this process a pseudonym identification number (ID) is assigned to your browser to check which adverts have been shown in your browser and which ones have been accessed. The cookies do not contain any personal information. Using DoubleClick cookies only enables Google and its partner websites to place adverts based on previous visits to our or other websites on the internet. The information generated by the cookies is transmitted to a server in the USA and stored there by Google for analysis.

By using our website, you are confirming that you agree to the processing of the data about you, which is collected by Google, in the manner and for the purposes described above. You can prevent cookies being stored by setting your browser software accordingly; however, please be aware that, in this case, you may not be able to make full use of all the functionalities of our website as a result. Furthermore, you can prevent Google recording and processing the data generated by cookies and relating to your use of the website by switching off personalised adverts using the following link. Alternatively, you can disable DoubleClick cookies on the Digital Advertising Alliance website via the following link.

Google Googleadservices / Google AdWords Conversion / Google Dynamic Remarketing

This website uses tools for online marketing from Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. This allows us to recognise that a visitor has come to our website via a Google advert. Google uses cookies which are stored on your computer and allow your usage of the website to be analysed. The cookies for what is known as "conversion tracking" are installed if you click on an advert placed by Google. These cookies expire after 30 days and are not used as a means of personal identification. If you wish to prevent conversion tracking, you can set your browser to block cookies from the googleadservices.com domain. You can also exercise your right to opt out via the following website: www.networkadvertising.org/choices/. If you wish to find out more about these methods or your options for preventing Google using this information, click here:https://www.google.com/settings/u/0/ads/authenticated

Use of Adform

Our website uses conversion tracking from Adform, Wildersgade 10B, 1, 1408 Copenhagen K, Denmark. The cookie for conversion tracking is installed when a user clicks on an advert placed by Adform. These cookies do not contain any information that allows users to be personally identified. Users who do not wish to take part in tracking can block the cookie from Adform via their internet browser. You can find information on privacy and opting out here: site.adform.com/privacy-policy/en

Anonymous data collection with Semasio

Semasio GmbH collects information about internet users via our website. The information obtained about user behaviour is stored under a pseudonym. A pseudonym is an identifier which replaces a name or other identifying characteristics and prevents third parties identifying the individual concerned and drawing conclusions about them. Pseudonymising and anonymising the information obtained ensures that your privacy remains protected because the information does not allow conclusions to be drawn about individuals. You are entitled to request any information at any time about the data stored under your pseudonym. You are also entitled to object to the creation of a user profile at any time now or in the future. Semasio GmbH uses cookies to analyse the use of websites, in particular online advertising, in anonymised or pseudonymised form, to store a user’s general preferences and to present special offers and services to the user on the basis of their preferences and interests. In certain circumstances, further demographic data (e.g. age and gender) is added to the initial data in on-site surveys. Moreover, you are made aware of this separately in the on-site survey. Furthermore, anonymous user statistics are produced and the data is used for the purposes of market research, for example. The stored data does not allow conclusions to be drawn about a particular person. You can find Semasio’s privacy policy and opt-out options here: www.semasio.com/privacy-policy/

Social media

The links we provide to social media sites – Facebook, Google+ and video platform YouTube – will take you to a presentation of our company on those providers' sites. If you do not have an account with these providers and/or are not logged in there at that moment, no personal data will be transmitted via our link during your visit. You can find the relevant provider’s privacy policy here:

Use of YouTube in extended privacy mode

We use YouTube to incorporate videos. The videos have been embedded in extended privacy mode. However, like most websites, YouTube also uses cookies to collect information about users of its website. This includes using cookies to record video statistics in order to prevent fraud and to improve user friendliness. Moreover, it leads to a connection to the Google DoubleClick network. Starting the video could trigger further data processing activity. This is beyond our control. You can find further information about privacy on YouTube in its privacy policy at: www.google.de/intl/en/policies/privacy/

We have carried out technical and administrative security measures to protect your personal data from being lost, destroyed, manipulated or accessed by unauthorised persons. All our employees and the service providers who work for us are bound by the applicable data protection laws.

Whenever we collect and process personal data, it is always encrypted prior to transmission. This means that your data cannot be abused by third parties. Our security measures undergo constant improvement and our privacy policies are continually revised. Please ensure that you have the latest version.

Your right to be informed/object

Please do not hesitate to contact us at any time if you wish to know what personal data we hold about you. You can also withdraw your permission for us to hold and process your personal data at any time. Please contact us directly in either case.

Changes to this privacy policy

We reserve the right to change our privacy policies should new technologies make this necessary. Please ensure that you have the latest version.
If fundamental changes are made to this privacy policy, we will announce these changes on our website.
