Clear view thanks to new ventilation technology
Boerhaavebad
Fogged-up windows are now a thing of the past at the Boerhaavebad swimming pool in Haarlem, Netherlands. The indoor pool has a 25-metre competition pool and a leisure pool with attractions such as a lazy river, bubble loungers and a 60-metre slide. During peak hours, the existing air handling unit technology was not powerful enough to ensure a pleasant atmosphere in the swimming hall. The operators therefore decided to replace the approximately 25-year-old air handling units with new KG Flex Pool ventilation units from WOLF.
In line with the principle of sustainability, it was important to them that the units were energy-efficient and durable. The ‘green’ WOLF KG Flex units have an air flow rate of between 16,500 and 27,000 m³/h. This makes them significantly larger than their predecessors, meaning that one ventilation unit had to be designed as an outdoor unit. The units are equipped with a cross-flow heat exchanger with an efficiency of around 75%. A structural reduction in external pressure reduces the power consumption of the free-running EC fans and the units operate very quietly. The ventilation units' housings are designed in TB2/T2 and L1
