Information on the integrated cylinders

  • Benefits of a buffer cylinder in a CHC heat pump centre:

    • Reliable supply of energy to defrost the evaporator
    • Great DHW convenience and better reliability thanks to the large volume of heating water

    These applications can do without a buffer cylinder in the CHC heat pump centre:

    • Systems in which all energy required for defrosting is provided by a further system
    • On-site integration of a large-volume WOLF buffer cylinders to:
      1. Cover heat pump downtimes (e.g.: utility company power-off periods)
      2. Continued provision of heating warmth while heating DHW

  • Benefits / drawbacks of series buffer cylinders:

    • Integrated overflow valve ensures reliable compliance with the minimum water circulation volume
    • Reliable supply of defrosting energy
    • No additional circulation pump required in the secondary circuit
    • Higher overall efficiency than separation cylinders
    • Only possible in systems with a heating circuit

    Benefits / drawbacks of separation buffer cylinders:

    • Hydraulic separation ensures reliable compliance with the minimum water circulation volume
    • Reliable supply of defrosting energy
