Overview of the cool benefits

The refrigeration unit is fully installed in an empty, sound-insulated section of the KG Top in the extract air flow of the central ventilation unit. Retrofitting is easy, even to replace appliances made by other manufacturers. The integral refrigeration units from WOLF offer several important benefits that you should consider during the design stage.

  • Coordinated refrigeration and control components.
  • Clearly defined warranty limits, particularly in conjunction with an overall system control panel from WOLF.
  • Systems with variable output control (digital scroll technology and inverters).
  • High performance ratings (EER/COP) and efficiency levels.
  • No energy losses through water as an intermediary heat carrier.
  • Combination with adiabatic extract air cooling.
  • Space saving – no additional outdoor unit required for cooling.
  • Indoor units – no equipment required on the roof (listed buildings).
  • Treatment of the outdoor air that is required for hygienic reasons.
  • Compressor in air flow – optimum compressor cooling.
  • Compressor set in separate component for easier servicing during operation (optional).
  • Refrigeration pipework fitted at the factory or on site.
  • Serviced by the manufacturer.

Multi-stage and variable compressor sets

  • DR compressor set with digital scroll, variable

Refrigeration units in an output range from 10-30 kW.

The compressor/compressor set is installed on anti-vibration mounts. Assembled as one compact unit, it incorporates intake and pressure shut-off valves and a crankcase heater, a refrigerant collector, refrigerant dryer, inspection window, high/low pressure switches and an electronic or thermostatic expansion valve.

If there are multiple compressors in the refrigeration circuit, the appliances are also equipped with an oil regulation system. They are pressure-tested, evacuated and filled with shielding gas in their delivered condition. WOLF refrigeration units are fitted with the necessary safety equipment in accordance with accident prevention regulations/VGB 20 and are assembled and tested in line with the relevant standards and regulations.

It includes a control panel for operating the refrigeration unit, sheet steel casing, a mounted door with rubber seal and rotating latch, RAL 7035 paint finish, contactors, fuses etc. on a mounting panel with wiring ducts, main switches and indicator lights in the door with flexible wiring, fully assembled and partially wired. It is tested in line with VDE 0660 Part 500 and EN 60439-1.

Final installation of the refrigeration pipework, wiring of the refrigeration components to the refrigeration control panel and commissioning of the compressor set on site with pressure testing, commissioning report and user instructions.

    • A fully functional unit is assembled from all compressor set components at the factory.
    • Precise temperature regulation and efficient operation.
    • Output-controlled compressor set controllable down to very low ranges at partial load (down to 10%).
    • Complete safety circuit that monitors high and low pressure ranges.
    • A load shedding relay can be implemented using the WOLF overall system control panel.
    • Straightforward mechanism for robust, uninterrupted operation.

02. Integrated heat pump

Integrated heat and cold sources

Generating heat and cold using a compression process is the latest thing. It is both practical and makes economical use of primary energy. A great deal of expertise is required to ensure that all runs smoothly. After all, nobody wants to be stuck in chilly or overheated rooms.

In addition to having many years of experience with refrigeration technology, WOLF also has access to the latest cooling technologies that are perfectly coordinated with WOLF air handling unit controllers. For instance, scroll compressors can be adjusted across a large output range – vital when using EC fans that handle CO₂. Both modular and complete solutions are available that can be fine-tuned to the respective application. Plug-and-play solutions that only need to be connected on site or modular systems: WOLF provides the full spectrum of integrated compressor technology solutions of any size.
